As we enter the second quarter, one thing feels clear: 2026 is foundational for FinAbility. This is the year we are strengthening the partnerships and infrastructure needed to scale our work, with a clear goal ahead: building a statewide service model that can be replicated nationally.
Partnership Momentum
In the U.S., there are more than 90,000 bank branches compared to fewer than 5,000 domestic violence service providers. A survivor is far more likely to walk into a bank than a shelter.
With that in mind, our Director of Partnerships, Christa Kuberry, is building new relationships across the banking sector and integrating them into our statewide support model.

Building Infrastructure
In partnership with the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence, we launched a statewide listening initiative to better understand how financial barriers for survivors differ across regions and communities.
Led by our Director of Programs, Joleen Fuller, we are traveling to every county in Oregon to host meal-based conversations with up to 55 domestic violence service providers. These insights will directly shape how we build a statewide model that is locally informed and designed to scale.

Looking to 2027 and Beyond
In 2027, we will pilot expansions of our programs across Oregon based on what we learn this year. Our goal is to ensure that survivors can access:
- Financial resources regardless of geography
- Support that reflects their identity and lived experience
- Programs that create long-term stability, not short-term relief
There’s a lot ahead, and we’re grateful to be building it with you.
